The Wind and Solar Towers™ Deliver Far More Than Clean Power for EVs
Hybrid power station can electrify remote villages around the world – and help save lives
DETROIT, Sept. 21, 2022 – The Wind & Solar Tower™, the world’s only electricity-generating charger powered by a combination of wind and sun, is far more than an efficient and novel way to charge electric vehicles quickly. In remote locations, it can bring reliable, clean electric power to rural, off-grid villages – not only providing electricity where needed – but also saving lives.
In a presentation on Sept. 19 at the 10th Annual International Conference on Sustainable Development, Jim Bardia, inventor of the Wind & Solar Tower™, outlined the dramatic need for the solution the Tower provides in bringing clean power to thousands of villages and millions of people around the world.
“The advantages of small-footprint distributed-energy devices like the Wind & Solar Tower™ are critical in satisfying a series of UN Sustainable Development Goals,” Bardia said. “Towers can help establish a nationwide, domestically controlled and operated industrial infrastructure that will bring electricity to the masses and will greatly improve their quality of life and improve education, health and commerce.
According to the World Bank, two million children under the age of five die every year from exposure to poisonous fumes generated by the three billion people who cook on traditional open stoves fueled by wood, charcoal, dung and biomass. The World Bank called open stoves “one of the world’s major public health challenges, causing more premature deaths than HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.” Bringing clean and reliable electric power to off-grid villages will greatly reduce the use of open stoves.
Additionally, the Wind & Solar Tower™ will provide:
• electricity for drilling wells and powering water pumps for irrigation, livestock and food-supply refrigeration
• potable water
• refrigeration and lighting for medical facilities
• electricity for schools
• electricity for housing and workplaces
“Locally generated renewable-energy systems create high-paying jobs and generate economic growth,” Bardia said. “And, kilowatt costs are greatly reduced compared with fossil-fueled-generator electricity.”
Clean technology like the Wind & Solar Tower™ helps underdeveloped countries in a number of ways, including:
• Transfers renewable-energy technology and know-how
• Establishes a nationwide, domestically controlled and operated industrial infrastructure
• Creates a nationwide structure that can operate, administer and maintain cash-flow-positive micro-grids and mini-grids
Bringing clean technology to rural areas is a boon to the planet as well. Renewable energy from Tower devices can supply pollution-free electricity around the clock, 365 days a year. It eliminates toxic smoke from dung and wood fires and stops CO2 emissions that come from fossil-fuel generators while curbing deforestation by reducing dependency on wood as a fuel source for cooking, heating and commerce.
The Wind & Solar Tower™ is covered by numerous domestic and international utility patents. It features: self-cleaning and self-cooling rotating solar panels, modular tower architecture for ease of assembly, magnetic levitation bearings that virtually eliminate friction, and an eight-speed transmission.
